10 Ways to Use Essential Oils this Fall
Bring their healing indoors
One of the best ways to feel better fast is to hike in nature. The second best way to get the benefits of nature is to use tree based essential oils and bring the outside inside during the cooler months.
In one recent study, 585 young adult Japanese participants reported on their moods after walking for 15 minutes, either in an urban setting or in a forest. The forests and urban centers were in 52 different locations around the country, and about a dozen participants walked in each area. In all cases, the participants walking in a forest experienced less anxiety, hostility, fatigue, confusion, and depressive symptoms, and more vigor, compared to walking in an urban setting. The results were even stronger for people who were more anxious to begin with. “The psychological benefits of walking through forests are very significant, and forest environments are expected to have very important roles in promoting mental health in the future,”
I personally love the “Forgive” Blend and the new blend called "Hygge” and Cypress and Cedarwood.

3. Eat Them

5. Manage Stress
If you’re like me, back-to-school, knowing that the colder months are coming and the pandemic stress is causing more anxiety than ever. I know that prayer, yoga and/or meditation are going to be important when it comes to being well this winter.
One of my favourite things to do is this “loving kindness” meditation while inhaling a favourite calming oil, like Adaptiv or Frankincense or Forgive.
How it works. The first time you say in just as it’s written. Then you expand and replace the “i” with “my family”, etc. Second time, you think about your family…then you think about your friends, then you think about your city, country, universe, enemies, etc. It’s powerful. Do this daily.
6. Detox from Your Summer Fun
Daily Detoxing is something your body does naturally.
Take your vitamins! I’m still a fan of the Lifelong Vitality Kit to address chronic inflammation and energy. Are you ready to do the challenge?
Take a Terrazyme or 2 or 3 with every cooked meal (helps break down foods so they can be digested more easily)
Rub Zendocrine oil, diluted, on your liver before bed (under right rib cage and all around to the back)
Put a drop of frankincense and copaiba under your tongue before you go to bed to address inflammation
Take Zendocine (US Cart) daily or a cleansing product with milk thistle to support detox pathways. (liver, lungs, kidneys, bowel, skin)
Take a bath with epson salts, Juniper Berry and Zendocrine oil.
Hydrate! And be sure you are getting the minerals you need to fully hydrate. We love Aussie Trace Minerals. You can find those here for 20 % off!
7. Prioritize Sleep
We know just how important it is to get a good nights rest. This is the number one focus in my opinion right now! Have you mastered good sleep? If not, you may want to try my Fix Your Hormones Quick Fix Program! Or, try it yourself by experimenting with the oils pictured below.
8. Warm Your Body
One change you’ll want to make is to start eating for the season. This involves ditching that cold smoothie for warmer options like Millet porridge or Oatmeal. Try this one but be sure to warm it slightly before you eat it.
And, use your oils to warm your body. The following oils are excellent for warming the body.
Cinnamon: This warming and aromatic oil is jam-packed with antioxidants that help to decrease inflammation, boost immunity, and fight disease-causing free radicals. Cinnamon bark is also known to contain anti-viral and anti-parasitic properties. It can help regulate blood sugar and promote good circulation.
Try: Diluting this in coconut oil and rubbing it on your feet before you head out or before bed.
Ginger: This oil not only warms, but it also energizes. It’s known as the “oil of empowerment” because it can help you cultivate inner confidence and self-assuredness. One of its main active compounds, gingerol, is a potent anti-inflammatory that helps support immunity, promotes good blood circulation, and reduces joint pain. Ginger oil is very helpful with digestive issues and nausea too. It also helps to manage cold and sore throat symptoms, which makes it a perfect fall and winter oil to have in your natural medicine cabinet at home.
Try: Adding a drop to warm water along with manuka honey for a soothing and warming drink.
Clove: This warm and spicy oil is a healing powerhouse with the highest amount of antioxidant content of all herbs and spices. Clove oil helps to boost immunity by preventing bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections. This makes it a perfect companion for flu and cold season. It’s also an energizing oil that helps boost vital energy by balancing blood pressure and supporting healthy blood circulation.
Try: Add clove to your favourite roller bottle blends to increase your protection this fall!
9. Preserve foods
Spray On Guard on your pumpkins to make them last longer after carving – and apply on the stems to the ones you don’t carve!
Add a drop of tea tree to your flowers to make them last longer.
10. In the shower.
Blend 2 tbs brown sugar, 1tbs coconut oil + 5 drops Orange essential oil and cleanse lips a few times a week while in the shower.
Shake a few drops of the lung opening Eucalyptus on your shower wall while you shower and breath in this incredible scent. [study]
